3SW - Keynote Speakers

David Banes - Ability Net
Technology and people with a disability – New opportunities and New Risks
This presentation by David Banes will review the ways in which disabled people are benefiting from modern technologies to access education employment and achieve personal aspirations. The tools and solutions that are promoting digital inclusion through computers will be summarised and demonstrated. Looking ahead the presentation will examine some of the new technologies that are available both on the PC and other devices and suggest the opportunities these present and the risks of digital exclusion that remain if the lessons of the last 20 years of PC development are not heeded.

Marcus Pullen - Aspin Technologies
Marcus is the business director for the E-commerce division of Aspin Management Systems Ltd and specialises in strategy development for e-commerce websites for retailers, wholesalers and distributors.
 
Marcus has worked in computing for 15 years including computer magazine publishing, multimedia and the Internet and projects have included HMV, Meridian Broadcasting, Castle Rock Entertainment, NewsCorp and many other blue-chip clients. 
 
Aspin Technologies are best known for the development of Riverford Organic Vegetables' Ecommerce website and unique web based extranet for their network of over 150 franchises across the UK, and have won several awards from the DTI.
 
Dr Tom Cherret - Southampton University
A leading researcher at the Unversity of Southampton Transport Group, Dr Cherret will present findings from a study being carried out in Winchester to assess how distribution and logistics techniques can take advantage of 3SW.
