eHampshire's WiFi Hotspots initiative is creating a network of WiFi hotspots throughout the county so that you are never more than 10 minutes away from a fast internet connection. See the list of winners so far and find your nearest WiFi Hotspot.

What is a WiFi hotspot?

WiFi Hotspots are ideal for business travellers who need to access the internet and check emails whilst away from the office, shoppers and tourists increasingly want to stay in touch when away from home aswell. Some games consoles use WiFi, allowing people to play each other while on the move, WiFi hotspots attract a wide variety of users.

Retailers, cafes, bars and hotels that offer WiFi are seeing an increase in customer numbers and customer spend.

  • 87% of business travellers place high importance on the availability of a Wi-Fi connection during their visit to a hotel.
  • 83 per cent of BT Openzone WiFi hotspot hosts feel wireless broadband gives their customers another good reason to come to them instead of going to a competitor.
  • 71 per cent of BT Openzone WiFi hotspot hosts think their customers spend more time in their business when using wireless broadband.
