  • Pompey Chimes in with latest Smarter Working Centre The appropriately named Victory Business Centre is the latest location to join Hampshire's growing county-wide network of work-hubs.
    This latest addition to the Hampshire & IOW Smarter Working Centre Newtork provides highly affordable internet connected work, office, training or meeting space all on a pay-as-you-use and as and when needed basis.
    Portsmouth like other centres in the network also offers the benefits of co-working and easy access to SWC Partner business support organisations like Business Link, Enterprise First, Hampshire Chamber and Job Centre Plus.
    Social Enterprises and CICs are also being encouraged to use the centres for group meetings and training sessions.
    Our thanks to Portsmouth City Council for choosing to invest in the shared-workspace revolution that is now beginning to gain momentum in several different parts of the country.

  • Four more Smarter Working Centres to join the network Following the launch of the first three Smarter Working Centres in November in Fordingbridge, Havant and Whitchurch, HCC grants for four further centres - in Aldershot, Basingstoke, Fareham and Gosport - have now been approved. These new centres are expected to open during February. Each Smarter Working Centre offers drop-in, low-cost workspace, meeting and training rooms together with a communal networking area. They allow smaller businesses to get together and share best practice in addition to supporting staff who work a long way from home or do not have adequate home working facilities.
