MATISSE Teleworking Report and Toolkit

In 2006, a six month measured pilot study, MATISSE (Mobile and Teleworking Initiative for a Smarter South East), was conducted by Hampshire County Council’s Economic Development Office on behalf of the regional development agency SEEDA.

The aim was to assess the benefits and potential barriers to home and remote working (Teleworking). The pilot consisted of around 100 participants – drawn from Hampshire County Council and 14 Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across the County.

The results were presented on November 6th to the 170+ delegates who attended the 2006 eHampshire Conference. The results provided considerable evidence and indication of significant productivity increases, reduced travel and congestion, lowered stress and greater job satisfaction.

These and other outcomes are described in the full report and associated ‘best-practice’ toolkit that were also published in November.
