MATISSE Teleworking Toolkit

Welcome to the on-line, maintained version of the MATiSSE Smarter Working implementation toolkit. Version 2 of the step by step toolkit builds upon the initial pilot-study full report and the initial (version one) associated ‘best-practice’ toolkit that were published in November 2006.
Version two of the on-line toolkit takes a comprehensive look at smarter working implementation and after painting possible future workplace scenarios covers:
The 2006 six month measured MATiSSE pilot study which, led to the development of the original toolkit, was conducted by Hampshire County Council’s Economic Development Office on behalf of the regional development agency SEEDA. The aim was to assess the benefits and potential barriers to home and remote working (Teleworking). The pilot consisted of around 100 participants – drawn from Hampshire County Council and 14 Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across the County.

The results were presented on November 6th to the 170+ delegates who attended the 2006 eHampshire Conference. The results provided considerable evidence and indication of significant productivity increases, reduced travel and congestion, lowered stress and greater job satisfaction.
